All are available year-round within an easy walking distance of most JCR lodging & facilities.

- Steel shot is required for wobble trap shooting.
- Eye and ear protection are required and available at the Pro Shop.
State-of-the-art automatic wireless Promatic traps are set up among oak and elm trees to challenge shooters at 20 stations designed to simulate the flights of various gamebirds. The Texas Hill Country view from every station is spectacular in every season. Open daily from 8 am until dark, guests can purchase an access card to shoot from 50 to an unlimited number of targets. The flexibility of the access card makes it easy for guests to choose the stations they want to shoot and the number of targets to shoot at each station. The course is set to be novice-friendly since the fun is in breaking the targets. But for competition, a couple of very challenging stations are added to the mix to separate the great shooters from the good ones!

Hunting
From mid-September through April, Upland Bird Hunting is the main attraction at Joshua Creek Ranch. Texas bobwhite quail are found in great numbers on the ranch as are pheasant and chukar. Traditional walk-up hunting with guides and dogs is the most popular style of hunting at Joshua Creek Ranch. Great care has been taken over the 30 years of operation to develop and manage prime cover and food plots for attracting and holding gamebirds. Professional guides use both pointing and flushing dogs to ensure hunters of finding an abundance of birds and getting a hard flush when the birds fly. Hunting packages as an add on.
